What does Thought Knockout mean by “data analysis”?
Thought Knockout focuses on interpreting existing data to support decisions. This includes identifying patterns, inconsistencies, risks, and implications relevant to a specific question. The goal is clarity and judgment support, not volume reporting or automated dashboards.
Do you build dashboards or reports?
Dashboards and reports are not the default. We prioritize written analysis that explains what the data shows, what it does not show, and what matters most for the decision at hand. Dashboards or visual summaries are included only when they add clear value.
What tools or platforms do you work with?
We work with data from common business systems, including CRM platforms, marketing tools, analytics platforms, spreadsheets, surveys, and internal databases. The focus is on the data itself rather than the tool used to collect it.
Is this statistical or predictive modeling work?
This service is not designed for predictive modeling or academic statistical research. When decisions intersect with funded programs, evaluations, or grant-supported initiatives, we may recommend a separate grants or program analysis engagement better suited to that scope.
Analysis methods are selected based on the question being asked and the quality of available data. If a question requires methods outside this scope, we will say so.
How is this different from hiring a data analyst?
This service is designed for decision support rather than ongoing data operations. Instead of maintaining dashboards or handling routine reporting, Thought Knockout provides independent analysis focused on interpretation, risk, and implications for leadership decisions.
Can you work asynchronously?
Yes. All analysis work is conducted asynchronously by default, allowing for deeper focus without meetings or disruption. You provide context and data securely, and we deliver written findings without requiring meetings. Live discussions are available as optional add-ons.
